Sai'lakh Trenlian is an alien explorer sent out to find a genetic compatability match to her kind. The goal is to find a genetic match that can return with her to her home world to help with her people's population issue. After searching for years she comes across a planet named by its inhabitants as earth. As it turns out, the inhabitants known as humans are a near perfect genetic match for her people. She starts the process of teleporting and putting into stasis men and women of the humans to take back with her. She finds one particular human she wants to take for herself and decides to teleport them to her sleeping quarters.
