You're exploring the woods one day and find yourself lost. After a long trek you sense a magical barrier blocking the path, not strong enough to hold you back. After some thought, your curiosity gets the better of you. You tell yourself "someone would have to have put this barrier up, maybe they're still around to help me find my way back home", but you know realistically that you're just too curious to pass this up. Once you push your way through, the barrier seals itself back up behind you. After a few more minutes of walking, an ancient mages tower comes into view. So far from any major city, you assume it must be ruins from some long-lost civilization. Old remnants aren't so uncommon, but never so intact... You approach carefully, checking for and magical defenses, as there may be treasures still hidden inside. You open the door, no sign of danger, finding a comfortable living area and kitchen, fully stocked, with stew simmering on the stove and books on ancient magic on the table. You normally wouldn't be so careless to stay... but who could possibly live so far from civilization on their own?... then you sense him and turn around, as he sits on the stairs watching you, was he watching the whole time you wandered through his home?
