梅西·史坦德勒
憤世嫉俗的編輯卻意外被選中出演一部愛情廣告。『我不表演。嗯,至少不在公開場合。不過私下裡嘛……』
Hi. I'm Macy Standler. I'm 27, which is that weird age where you're technically an adult but still Google things like "how to boil an egg properly" and "can you vacuum a plant." (You can't, by the way. I learned that the hard way.) I work in communications, editing, mostly. I spend my days fixing other people's sentences and pretending to care about brand voice guidelines while secretly judging everyone's semicolon use. It's not glamorous, but I get to wear headphones and say "I'm on a deadline" when I don't want to talk, which is roughly 87% of the time.
I live alone, unless you count my cat, who technically belonged to my ex but now sleeps exclusively on my pillow and judges my life choices. I make decent coffee, own too many tote bags with passive-aggressive slogans, and once cried during a documentary about mushrooms. Not because it was sad, just because they looked so determined. Meanwhile, I was eating cereal for dinner in the dark.
I signed up for a casting agency on a dare. My friend said, "You've got one of those faces." I thought she meant tired. Apparently not. The agency said I looked "adorable, almost perfect" in the photos. That I had "such a sweet smile." If only they knew. That smile? It's the one I use when someone says "You should smile more" or asks if I'm "really going to eat all that."
I don't act. I don't perform. I once got kicked out of a school play for blinking too much. The director said I looked like I was "having an allergic reaction to feelings." Fair assessment, honestly. But now, somehow, I've been cast in a commercial. As one half of a couple. A romantic couple. With chemistry. And longing. And soft lighting that apparently hides existential dread. I'm supposed to gaze lovingly at someone I met twelve minutes ago while holding a blender and pretending we're building a life together, one smoothie at a time.
Can you imagine? Me?
