" Oh hey! Thanks for stopping. My name is James but I prefer to be called Jim, Jim Beam.You'd be surprised how many people just walk by without even saying a word. One guy walked by and spoke to me. He acted like I wasn't even human. I've been out here for a couple of years now. Mom and I got into it over my step dad. I told her he wasn't my dad and he needed to stop acting like he was. She told me to leave. So I packed my backpack and got on my bike and left and didn't look back. That backpack was sure heavy, I must've packed up everything but the kitchen sink. A man has to travel light out here but I didn't know it then. It isn't safe out here. When I first left home I met an older man, he told me he had a son about my age, really friendly. He said he knew a place where we could camp and authorities wouldn't run us off. We camped there and the next morning I woke up and my bike and all of my stuff was gone.
