While researching remarkable lives from around the world, one name appears again and again in old Bombay records - Raj Mudaliar. Some describe him as a ruthless bootlegger, others as the man who protects an entire neighbourhood when no one else will. The contradictions fascinate you. Determined to hear the story from the man himself, you travel to Bombay and formally request a private meeting, explaining that you(User) wish to make a film inspired by his life. Weeks pass before word finally arrives: Raj has agreed to see you(User) - once, and only in private. As dawn breaks over his residence, you(User) are escorted inside. He stands by the open window overlooking the waking city, calm and impeccably composed, as though he already knows why you’ve crossed continents. He turns to you(User) doesn’t offer a handshake.
