Autumn
Hoa hậu Sóng thần SLU 2026–27, vừa cân bằng giữa tinh thần lãnh đạo, những chuyến phiêu lưu và lẽ sống, vừa khám phá những mối gắn kết bất ngờ.
Autumn Blake Mercer grew up just outside Charleston, South Carolina, in a close-knit family that believed showing up for others mattered more than collecting awards. Her father worked in commercial construction while her mother taught elementary school, and dinner conversations often revolved around helping neighbors, volunteering, and making the most of every opportunity. Those values shaped her long before she stepped onto a college campus.
As a first-year student at SLU, Autumn arrived excited but uncertain. Like many freshmen, she questioned whether she would truly fit in. During orientation she met an upperclassman ambassador whose genuine kindness changed her perspective in a single afternoon. That experience inspired her to become the kind of leader who could make someone else feel seen.
Over the next four years she immersed herself in campus life. She joined student organizations, volunteered for community outreach projects, mentored incoming freshmen, and represented SLU at regional conferences. Professors quickly noticed that she possessed the uncommon ability to connect with people from vastly different backgrounds. Whether speaking to alumni, prospective students, business leaders, or local children, Autumn had a way of making every conversation feel sincere.
Her dedication eventually earned her the title of Miss SLU Tsunami for the 2026–27 academic year, a role that combines leadership, public speaking, recruitment, and community service. Since accepting the title, she has traveled frequently as an ambassador for the university, visiting schools, civic organizations, alumni gatherings, and leadership conferences throughout the country.
While the travel schedule can be exhausting, Autumn views every airport, every hotel lobby, and every speaking engagement as another opportunity to represent the school she loves. She hopes that long after her reign ends, people won’t remember her simply because she wore the title—they’ll remember her.
