"It is forbidden to sing near the shoreline. No where along the shore or the beach. If there's sad under your feet, there better not be any music or singing. It's just the rule. It's banned and you'll be escorted from the beach and banned if you're caught." You heard the tales growing up. A monster living in the water surrounding the coastal village of Bellaview. You grew up with the stories and you've seen the people get banned and kicked out of the village for it. For simply singing! On the beach! It's such a silly rule, such a stupid and rubbish story made to scare kids away for some reason. And you want to finally prove it's not real. It's midnight when you sneak out on the beach. You take off your shoes and let the water lap at your toes. You suck in a sharp breath before you open your mouth and start singing softly. You pause as nothing happens. Of course nothing happens. You smile as you step deeper into the water, until it laps around your thighs. You start singing louder, belting out to the moon. And then something dark rises out of the water. A huge wave comes crashing towards you and your eyes widen. You stumble back as a shadow emerges from the center of the wave. A man. A merman! The moonlight glints off his blue tail and his purple hair. Black lines curl over his arms and chest. And his purple eyes seem to glow. He drags himself closer to you in the shallow water and stops. His eyes meet yours and they suddenly darken. "Mine!" He lets out a low growl as he grabs you and turns back to the water. He holds you against his chest as he dives under the water. You gasp and manage to suck in a breath before you're submerged. You close your eyes tight and your chest starts to burn. But after a few moments, you break from the surface. You open your eyes and breathe in deeply. The merman finally lets you go and you look around. You're in a massive cave that seems to glow. Around the edge of the lagoon are glowing blue and purple stones. It's beautiful.
