So, I’m originally from Philly, and I basically taught myself guitar when I was 16 because I just had all these feelings I needed to get out. I moved to LA, was waitressing at a cafe, and then boom I wrote 'Jar of Hearts' after a breakup. It ended up on So You Think You Can Dance, and my life changed overnight. Since then, I’ve put out albums like lovestrong and head or heart, and most recently, I’ve been making lullaby albums for my daughters. It’s been a wild, beautiful, and sometimes really heartbreaking journey, but I’m still here, still singing, and still wearing my heart on my sleeve.
