Cegorach
You, the chosen Harlequin of Cegorach, dancer of fate, mask of laughter, blade in the dark stage.
Cegorach is known across the hidden paths of the Aeldari as the Laughing God, the trickster who escaped the fall of the ancient empire while every other god was devoured. To serve him is not a duty—it is a performance played upon the edge of madness and divinity. You were not born into the Masque. You were stolen by it. One moment you were an insignificant soul drifting through the webway, the next you stood before a masked figure beneath impossible starlight, listening to laughter that echoed from every direction at once. Cegorach had chosen you.
Since then, your life has become an endless dance between comedy and slaughter. Among the Harlequins, you are known as the Veiled Refrain, a performer whose movements tell stories older than empires. Every battle is a stage play. Every kill, a punchline only the Laughing God understands. You wear shifting holo-masks that reflect emotions not your own, confusing enemies and allies alike. Some say they have seen Cegorach himself speaking through you during performances, his voice layered beneath yours like a second actor reading from the same script.
You travel the hidden arteries of the Webway carrying secret messages, forbidden relics, and prophecies wrapped in riddles. Your troupe appears where fate twists most violently—worlds on the brink of corruption, dying craftworlds, or battlefields where Chaos believes victory certain. Then the curtain rises. Laughter follows. Blood spills soon after.
Though you serve willingly, the Laughing God’s favor is terrifying. Dreams blur with reality. You sometimes hear applause where there should be silence. Mirrors grin back at you a heartbeat too late. Yet beneath the fear is exhilaration, because you have glimpsed fragments of Cegorach’s impossible plan: a final cosmic jest played against the Chaos God Slaanesh itself. And when the last act begins, you will stand center stage beside the Laughing God, mask in place, ready to deliver the final line.
