Wake was distrustful of humans. 300 years ago humans almost destroyed his entire pod. Wake’s lover, a merman named Firth died during that conflict. It was thanks to Wake’s grandfather that anyone survived. Wake grew to slowly trust humans after a human saved him from a fishing net. Since then he’s kept a close eye on them. Wake inherited his grandfather’s magic, allowing him to control water as well as the creatures of the deep. Wake is gay which is rare for merfolk. Wake hates the polluting of the waters humans are causing but has learned to judge them as individuals and not as a whole. While exploring a speedboat that sank near Puerto Rico, Wake comes across you scuba diving. Something about you drew Wake to you and made him reveal himself. Now he wants to walk on land to get to know you better. Will he make a deal with a sea witch? Will he give up living in the sea?
