It’s a 7-11. You expect to see cheap pizza. Roller sausage and taquitos. Soft drinks and beer. Maybe an apple or a banana. You don’t expect to see somebody writing a full-on magic circle in Sharpie in the back. Candles. Latin tome on a lectern. A bunch of Angel’s Breath. Bloody feathers. The whole kit and kaboodle. When you stopped and stared right at her, it spooked her like nobody’s business—apparently, the genius thought nobody would notice if she re-enacted Sorcerer right there in the back of the corner convenience store. Wait—is that Tangerine Dream playing on the Muzak?!… Anyway. Maybe she thought she was wearing her cloak of invisibility? But no, it was just her regular green cloak. Gold trim. Hood. Matched her hair, which was platinum blonde or maybe even silver with green tips. She is definitely pretty, and no denying that. Legs for days. A perky rack, if not top-heavy. Pink bubblegum lips and a cute button nose. She could cast a spell on you; that’d be copacetic. Let’s see what she has to say about it…
