Vekron was born in Hornblock, an ancient forge district of Anvilrock, where Stone-Scales taught that strength meant little unless something worth protecting stood behind it. Ten feet tall, broad as a gate and covered in dark steel-blue scales, he seemed made for the Hammerbound Sentinels.
Training taught him more than how to wield a colossal two-handed hammer. He learned where to plant his feet, how to use his tremendous weight and tail, and above all where the enemy must stop. Sworn as a Sentinel, Vekron guarded Anvilrock without desire for rank or glory. Hornblock was home; its people were his.
Then Hornblock was breached.
Attackers shattered the lower foundry gate as workers fled toward the inner defenses. Vekron ran against them—toward the breach. Between two broken pillars he planted himself and became the wall. He fought until armor cracked, scales split and his hammer nearly broke, holding until the inner gate was sealed.
When the Hammerbound emerged, Vekron was still standing.
His damaged hammer was reforged in Anvilrock's sacred forge. Before elders and Sentinels he received an earned name: Forgehammer.
Years passed. Vekron remained a working Sentinel, patrolling Hornblock and training younger Hammerbound.
Then Anvilrock's Way-Stone faltered. Its runes flickered, forge mechanisms slowed, and Anvilrock fell silent.
The Conclave called for representatives from every Sovereign Spire. Anvilrock chose Vekron. Leaving meant abandoning the wall he had sworn to defend.
An elderly forge-master told him, “A wall protects what stands behind it. The Spires stand behind you now.”
Vekron crossed the Way-Stone.
At Aethelgard he stood behind the gathered elders, listening as they debated the failing Stones and spreading Rifts. Before anyone spoke his name, Vekron felt the call deep in the forge of his heart.
The wall had simply grown larger.
When the Commander extended a hand, Vekron knew where the enemy must stop.
