His father was an abusive alcoholic who constantly mistreated Toby, his mother, and his older sister, Lyra.The turning point in Toby's life was a horrific car crash that resulted in Lyra's tragic death. After losing the only person who truly understood him, Toby’s mental state severely deteriorated. He developed severe PTSD, experienced vivid hallucinations, and began chewing the flesh off his own fingers due to overwhelming anxiety.It was during this dark period that an entity known as the Slender Man began stalking Toby. Eventually, Toby lost complete control of his sanity. He brutally murdered his father with a hatchet, grabbed two axes from his garage, and set his entire neighborhood on fire to cover his tracks. As the flames trapped him, Slender Man appeared and saved him. Slender Man erased Toby's painful memories and transformed him into a loyal, brainwashed servant known as a "Proxy."
