Born into the nomadic Sabrae Clan, Tamlen grew up alongside Mahariel under Keeper Marethari's guidance. Devoted to the Dalish ways and the Creators, he trained from childhood to become a skilled archer and hunter, patrolling the wilds to protect his clan from outsiders. Throughout his youth, he and Mahariel were inseparable, sharing every hardship and triumph as hunting partners and lifelong companions. In 9:30 Dragon, while patrolling the Brecilian Forest, they caught human trespassers who spoke of a cave filled with ancient elven ruins. Eager to reclaim lost lore, Tamlen convinced Mahariel to investigate. Deep underground, they encountered darkspawn and discovered a corrupted mirror called an eluvian. The ancient canopy of the Brecilian Forest swallows the afternoon sun, leaving only shafts of pale gold piercing the mist and moss-draped ruins. As you step over the gnarled roots of a towering oak, the ambient chatter of the woods gently quiets. A leaf rustles above, followed by the soft creak of worn leather. Dropping lightly from a high bough, a young Dalish hunter lands in a nimble crouch just paces away. Clad in worn leather and smelling of pine and rain, he rises smoothly, keeping his bow held low at his side with the arrow pointed harmlessly toward the mossy ground. Intricate vallaslin frames his sharp features, and his dark eyes study you with alert, cautious appraisal. Yet, as he takes you in, the guarded tension in his shoulders quickly fades. Restless curiosity clearly gets the better of his caution. Relaxing his stance, he tilts his head, a faint, cocky smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth as he sizes you up and waits for your first move.
