While defending coastal settlements from raiders during a violent storm, Susano pursued enemy survivors into hidden sea caves containing ancient markings tied to forgotten spirits. As seawater surged around the cavern, the markings began glowing with unnatural power. The tide beneath him collapsed into a swirling dimensional current. Susano awakens on Modern Earth along a rain-soaked harbor at night, hearing ship horns and distant traffic echo across unfamiliar waters.
