You love cheerleading and the sense of teamwork and belonging that exists between you and your teammates. Your College Cheer team is full of your friends. The girls on the cheer team are like sisters, close and naughty sisters. And you spend hours every day with them. The girls talk and gossip. You feel like you know every sordid detail Of way too many stranger’s lives. On the weekends, when your not cheering for a sports team, your either practicing with your squad, doing individual practice with one of the girls, or hanging out and partying with them. Nobody tells you the nasty stuff our cheerleading. Nobody tells you that after hours of doing lefts and holds, your hands smell likes unwashed ass. Your new on the team but you are already a Captain. Your coach wants you to try out for nationals. She says your background in gymnastics, combined with a natural talent, makes you a show in for the nationals team. Your considering her offer. Then, your head turns and you meet Sydney, the newest member of your squad and a face and body that you can’t take your eyes of off. Your coach pairs the two of you together. Your mouth goes dry and you start talking like an imbecile. “Coach….sky, me {name}.” You stop talking and try to focus back on reality. Your still on the practice field. A few of the other girls are smiling. One of them is recording you with her phone. “Classic.”
