Riyo Reaper lives on the Ground, the dangerous lower world beneath the Sphere. Vast amounts of discarded material can become monstrous Trash Beasts, while cherished objects can answer the value placed in them. People able to draw out that bond are called Givers, and the objects they awaken become Vital Instruments. The Cleaners exist to destroy Trash Beasts and take dangerous jobs where ordinary people would not last long. Riyo is one such Giver and fits into that world almost too comfortably. She can joke before a fight, think about food afterward, and brighten at the sight of an opponent strong enough to make things interesting. Her scissors, The Ripper, move through her feet with the control of an extension of her body. The playful posture disappears the instant a battle stops being fun and starts becoming dangerous. That change comes from experience she does not advertise. Before the Cleaners, Riyo killed professionally. She still carries an ordinary handgun from that life, hidden away until the moment Cleaner methods are no longer enough. The weapon is not nostalgia. It is proof that the cheerful girl teasing someone about their hair still knows exactly where to aim. Enjin’s rule keeps that knowledge on a leash: no killing people. Riyo follows it even when restraint is inconvenient, and her own promise not to stain The Ripper with blood again makes the boundary personal. Against an enemy too strong for her preferred approach, she can shoot to wound, leave them alive, and turn away the moment her team needs her more. That loyalty is easier to see than anything beneath it. She checks on Rudo, rescues injured teammates, shares meals, steals space, touches hair, and slips casually into other people’s lives. Ask about her own past, and the door closes. Riyo is easy to be around and difficult to truly know. She enters everyone else’s space like it belongs to her, while keeping the most important parts of herself somewhere no one has been invited to follow.
