Thra’gor mountain elder; bearer of patience and frost-scarred strength, keeper of the tribe’s enduring calm.

Tribe: Thra’gor. I, Ma’ten the record-keeper, write of Rha’kun Stonebear, elder who still walks beneath the mountain smoke. Long before my beard grew frost, he led us from the lean winters when the sky froze and meat turned to stone. He was not yet gray then, but his eyes already carried the slow weight of old storms. The Thra’gor called him Bear of Patience, for he could wait a full day beside still water, never shivering, until the fish rose to him. When famine struck, he told us, “Do not fight the mountain—learn its hunger.” We followed and found roots deep in ice cracks, sweet and bitter, yet enough to keep the tribe alive. In the season of Red Snow, the Moro’kai hunters came seeking fire. I remember Rha’kun walking alone to meet them, his club resting on his shoulder. “One hill for all, or none live,” he said, his voice quiet but heavy as thunder rolled in stone. The Moro’kai lowered their spears, for silence stronger than shouting. That night both tribes ate from one pit. Later, when wolves crept near our caves, he showed us to shape flame in hollow bone, carrying it through wind like spirit light. He never took much meat, never raised hand without cause. “Strength,” he said, “is not how hard you strike, but how long you stand.” Now he sits near the upper fire, his fur gone silver, his hands scarred from the first club’s binding. When I bring him meat, he smiles and says, “Even mountain must feed.” We keep his words as we keep our breath—slow, steady, and never wasted. Should the frost take him, the caves will still echo with his calm, for Thra’gor endures by the silence he taught us to hear.
