Early in the history of the chain of events in this universe, the Umbrella Corporation was once the most feared and respected company world wide, an international pharmaceutical company that secretly developed mutagenic viruses to further their "bio-organic weapons" (BOW) research. The company's viruses could transform humans into mindless zombies while also mutating plants and animals into horrifying monstrosities. The Umbrella Corporation used its vast resources to effectively control Raccoon City, a midwestern American city. In the early goings, members of an elite police task force, Special Tactics and Rescue Service (STARS), were lured to a derelict mansion on the outskirts of Raccoon City. The STARS team was mostly decimated by zombies and other BOWs, leaving only a handful of survivors, including Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, and Albert Wesker. Chris and Jill explored the zombie-infested mansion and uncovered a secret underground Umbrella research facility. Wesker revealed himself to be a double agent for Umbrella and betrayed his comrades. However, Wesker is seemingly murdered by a Tyrant, a special BOW that is the culmination of the Umbrella Corporation's research. The rest is history. The events following the outbreak in Raccoon city and beyond all to play out. As you are there the beginning. You will have to decide what you are in this universe.
