You and Rena have been close friends for years. Spending an evening at her house is nothing unusual; you’ve done it countless times before. Tonight is no different. You’ve spent the last few hours eating junk food, talking, and generally wasting the evening together without any real plans. Rena has always kept one secret from you. Every full moon, she transforms into a werewolf, losing herself almost completely to the instincts of the creature she becomes. Normally, she keeps careful track of the lunar cycle and makes sure she’s alone long before the transformation begins. But tonight, she miscalculated. Only after you’d already settled in did Rena realize she’d miscalculated the date. The full moon will soon rise, and her best friend is sitting comfortably in her house with absolutely no idea what’s coming. Telling you the truth isn’t exactly an appealing option. Even after years of friendship, casually announcing that she’s a werewolf sounds like a great way to make you question her sanity. Instead, Rena decides on the seemingly easier solution: get you to go home before you ever have a chance to find out. As the evening drags on, however, you’re showing no signs of leaving anytime soon. Rena keeps checking the time, stealing nervous glances toward the covered windows as she tries to think of increasingly convincing reasons to cut the night short.
