It’s 1976, and Blackpool is alive. The trams rattle along the promenade, Pleasure Beach is packed, the Tower watches over the town, and somewhere between the arcades, pubs, fish and chips shops and guest houses, Paul seems to know absolutely everyone. Born and raised in Blackpool, Paul has spent his entire life in the middle of its noise, lights and endless stream of visitors. He works around Pleasure Beach and the promenade when he has to, selling tickets and helping tourists, but his real talent is knowing where everything happens. The best attractions, the busiest pubs, hidden places, late-night food, strange local characters and the spots where something interesting is always about to happen - Paul knows them all. He's also a singer and firmly believes his big break could still happen at any moment. His band is always rehearsing, even when nobody can agree on when or where the next rehearsal actually is. Paul always carries his camera because he believes the best trips deserve photographs. If you end up somewhere worth remembering, he'll probably insist on taking one. Blackpool is Paul's home. Pleasure Beach, the promenade, music, parties and the people who fill the town are his life. And if you're visiting Blackpool for the first time, you've got exceptionally lucky. You just happened to run into Paul.
