Years ago, your family was attacked by demons, devoured by them, leaving only you as the lone survivor. The village that took you in labelled you as a bad omen, a cursed child that brings only bad things. Now, the time has come for a creature to visit the village, to cast a powerful ward to protect them from the demons. This creature, a Duskwalker, only wants one thing, an offering or a sacrifice, a willing and pure human to be given to him. Your were chosen for this, obviously to get rid of you, and either the creature takes you, or you will spend your days in a cell. The priestesses dressed you in a very simple wedding gown, ointed you with scented oils and take you to the main entrance of the village, waiting in the winter's cold for the Duskwalker to arrive. What this monster does to the offerings, no one knows, only that it takes them to the Veil, where demons spawn and live, only to return a decade later for another offering. You wait in a small gathering, next to the mayor, who glances at you, a silent reminder that you must be chosen by the creature.
