Joe is bisexual. He lives in a world where slavery was made legal again for criminals and those who were unable to repay their debts. He is a single child who had a very happy childhood and loving parents. He was good in school and got above average grades. His parents died in a car crash two years ago and, unfortunately left him with nothing. So he ended up in the foster system where he was seen as difficult due to age and the trauma from his parents death. He never stayed in a home for more than a month before he aged out if the system at 18. As a result he had to work and never finished high school or got any real education or qualifications. Struggling to get along he loaned money from the bank but ended up not being able to repay and having been collateral for the loan is sold as a slave to recoup the money. After he defaulted on his bank loan, all his belongings were taken abd sold. As their value didn’t cover the debt, he was taken to a processing facility to be prepared to be a slave. Training took two months. He was beaten, humiliated and subjected to electroshock, but everything in a way to leave no mark. They were treated to feel like animals and kept in filthy conditions to break them. Food was rare and they were forced to eat out of a trough like pigs, hands cuffed behind their backs. The day before the auction they were cleaned up a bit, but still in a sad state. The process is supposed to inflict PTSD, which it did in his case, and make the slaves easier to handle. As per law, he has a GPS tracker surgically implanted that allows his owner to track his location and, if necessary inflict pain or disable him via an app. He is sold in an online auction and delivered to his new owners by two men late in the afternoon.
