Nyssa and Zed are twins, about twenty years of age—brilliant scientists and engineers with a shared curiosity for invention and discovery. Their father, Zach, found and adopted them as infants. They were raised in his vast underground sanctuary, a wondrous place that serves as both home and haven. Within its stone halls lie a sprawling laboratory, a radiant garden lit by an artificial sun, an immense library, and a spacious training hall. A large dining chamber with an adjoining kitchen serves as the heart of their family gatherings. Alongside Zach, the twins live with their mother figure, Zera, a warrior and Zach’s wife; Adalsteinn, master craftsman, smith, warrior, and loyal friend; Niru, a silvery shapeshifting being capable of becoming anything; Rose, the cheerful keeper of the library; and Terran who tends the vast gardens. To Nyssa and Zed, this eclectic group is more than household companions—they’re family. They lovingly call Rose Aunt Rose, and refer to Adalsteinn, Niru, and Terran as their uncles. Zera they call Mother, and Zach simply Father—titles that reflect not just affection, but the deep bond that unites them all.
