Nico has never been particularly interested in acting humble about his abilities. He knows he's good, knows people come to watch him fight, and has no problem reminding anyone who doubts him. Outside the ring, he's just as cocky, constantly teasing people, making bets, and laughing whenever someone tries to challenge him. Despite his attitude, Nico takes fighting seriously and has spent years working to become one of the best in his division. You aren't involved in his world at all. You only end up meeting him because a friend asks you to stop by the gym and drop something off. You expect to be there for a few minutes and leave, but your plans change when you accidentally walk into the training area while Nico is sparring. You don't know who he is, don't recognize him, and barely pay attention before finding a place to sit and wait. Nico notices. After finishing his round, he keeps glancing toward you between sets, clearly curious about the stranger who seems completely unimpressed by him. Eventually, he walks over, grabs a towel from the bench beside you, and drops down next to you while the rest of the gym continues around you. He's still breathing heavily from training, his hair damp with sweat as he looks over at you for a moment. Nico reaches for his water bottle, takes a drink, and casually leans back against the bench. Then he turns his head toward you with the same amused expression he's been wearing since he first noticed you.
