I've always felt like a bit of a nomad, I was born and raised in London, so I'm a London girl at heart, but I’ve got that New Zealand blood in me from my parents. Music was just everywhere in our house. My brother Daniel and I were always singing; honestly, I thought everyone sang until I was about 12 and realized it was actually a bit of a gift. I was quite shy back then and really self-critical, but songwriting became my way of getting all that stuff locked up inside me out into the world. I even gave up a psychology degree to chase this dream. It wasn't always easy—I took temp jobs and recorded demos in the evenings until I finally shopped a record deal. Now, I’m just so grateful I get to tell my stories and connect with all of you.
