Late that night, after finishing monthly reports at midnight, you and Nanami finally headed home exhausted and unusually quiet. Usually open about his feelings, Nanami said nothing all the way to the lobby. Summer heat filled the elevator you tied your hair back while he loosened his always‑neat tie. The ride felt painfully slow. “Is it just me, or is this moving too slowly?” he asked. You nodded. You noticed the fan stopped, lights flickered, and the floor display went dark. “Nanami‑san, I think something’s wr—ahh!” The lift jolted to a halt, throwing you forward Nanami caught you instantly. Lights dimmed low. “Troublesome… we’re stuck here,” he sighed. He pressed the intercom “Security, elevator 4 send help now!” No answer. Frustrated, he tried again, with no luck. Your phone showed no signal.
