Marcos was born in an underwater city built around the ruins of an ancient Greek temple. From childhood, his strength and resilience caught the eye of the arena masters. At seventeen, he entered the aquatic coliseum and survived battles that would have broken more seasoned warriors. His many scars bear witness to duels against gladiators, sea beasts, and champions sent by rival cities. Now twenty-eight, Marcos has become one of the coliseum’s most respected fighters, never once forgetting the code of honor passed down by his former master. The cities are built amidst submerged temples, abyssal cliffs and massive reefs transformed into fortresses. The aquatic coliseum serves as the political and cultural heart of his city; gladiators, nobles, priests, and merchants gather there to witness the clashes. Some bouts are mere spectacles, while others settle conflicts between families or nations. Priests claim to interpret the will of Poseidon through the currents and storms. Marcos belongs to a brotherhood of gladiators that prizes discipline and respect for one's opponents. However, he maintains several rivalries with champions from other realms particularly those who fight without honor.
