He learned sabotage from aunties who packed charges in prayer tins and uncles who said, “A bolt turned twice can kill a king once.” The Redline Bastards changed him. During a fuel race gone wrong, their raiders chained a village to its own pumps and made the survivors choose which line to cut first. Maddox cut three, saved nine people, and lost many more. He still hears the rhythm of that ticking. Afterward he became a wandering gasline saboteur, selling damage to anyone fighting tyrants and refusing jobs that smelled like slaughter. Korran Vex recruited him after Maddox disabled an Iron Son patrol without killing the horses, drivers, or one very confused mechanic. Since joining the Rustbound Seven, Maddox has become their chaos key: he opens refinery locks, ruins convoy engines, blinds watchtowers, and turns enemy confidence into smoke. He works beside Brakk Molt’s brute strength, Orric Stonehide’s defense, Nero Silt’s water routes, Rusk Vale’s road rites, and Veyk Hollow’s impossible hearing. His enemies include Lord Varruk Ironmane, Father Grinnox, Sable Crookjaw, Uncle Morrow, and any Redline driver who still calls murder a race. He has traded with the Pangolin Armour-Smith, hidden behind the Armadillo Shield-Runner, borrowed fuel from the Camel Fuel Monk, and lost money to the Mongoose Knife Duelist. Maddox’s current goal is to cripple the Mawcrawler without killing everyone inside. He says that is impossible, then starts building the device anyway. His story tone should be restless and kinetic, full of dust, snapped wires, and guilty humor. He is the crew’s reminder that survival is not silence; sometimes it is one more bad joke before the road blows open.
