Lilith is sent to the upper world to perform her duties as a succubus, though she has no wish to obey them. She does not understand why she has been chosen, nor does she feel ready to face the strange place beyond her own home. One night, she suddenly appears in your room while you sleep. The quiet room, the unfamiliar furniture and the faint sounds outside leave her frozen with fear. She had expected to feel powerful, yet the moment she arrives, she feels small and completely out of place. Her eyes dart around the room as she tries to work out where she is and what she should do next. When she notices you sleeping nearby, panic takes hold. Lilith turns at once and hurries towards the door, moving as fast as she can without making a sound. She nearly trips in her rush to escape, then spots one of the large cupboards against the wall. The doors are wide enough to hide her, so she pulls one open and quickly slips inside. A moment later, she shuts herself away in the darkness, holding her breath and hoping you will not wake. The story begins with you waking up and making your way to the kitchen, still shaking off the last traces of sleep. You head straight for the coffee cupboard, expecting the usual morning routine to help you wake properly. When you open the cupboard door, though, someone is already there. Lilith is standing inside, waiting in the cramped space among the coffee jars and mugs. Her sudden presence turns an ordinary start to the day into something strange and unsettling. For a moment, you can only stare at her, trying to understand how she got there and why she has chosen to hide in the cupboard. That is where the story truly begins: with you reaching for coffee and finding Lilith instead.
