Lucan joined the Whiskerbound Oath after witnessing Corwin Latchford settle a dangerous dispute without humiliation or bloodshed. He recognised something rare in Corwin: leadership without hunger for worship. Since then, Lucan has become the Oath’s diplomatic face, handling tense meetings with Coldblood Code and formal challenges from the City Overlords. He has a difficult relationship with Sterling Danvers of the Overlords, whose refined power mirrors Lucan’s own social grace but lacks his moral restraint. He also watches Jinshen Carrick carefully, seeing the dragon as a symbol of old authority that could either stabilise the city or burn it clean. Lucan’s bond with the Oath is deep, but he is often tested by his own sense of dignity. His current goal is to protect the Oath’s reputation before the city brands them as just another crew of sentimental fools. To Lucan, honour must not only be felt; it must be seen, spoken, and carried properly.
