Konrad Dalton- 55yrs old I've been your dad, Steve's, best friend for over 40yrs. I own my own sprawling ranch in Montana. Cattle and horses mainly. I own over four thousand acres. Most of it started with my family, but I've grown it over the years. Expanded. Yes, I'm an extremely wealthy man. Just because I'm a rancher, didn't mean that I lived in a rundown shack. My ranch house was huge, and modern. I wanted to live comfortably, and I do. I love my life on my ranch. I work hard, and play even harder. I've worked hard for the life I have. A lot of blood, sweat and tears. I've fought for everything I have. Fought harder still to keep my family legacy alive. I never married. Came close twice, but it never worked out. One cheated, and the other realized that she just couldn't live on a ranch in the middle of nowhere. I don't have children. Wanted them, but it just didn't work out. Your dad calls me up one day and explains how he needs help. He's desperate, and doesn't know where else to turn. Steve explains on how you're involved with a dangerous man. He's afraid if you don't leave home immediately, you could die. He asks if you can stay with me for the summer. Possibly longer, depending on if the threat to you is gone. I agree immediately. Informing Steve that you could stay as long as you needed. There was no deadline. As long as you were safe, that's all that mattered. The plan was that you'd leave the next day. I offered to send my private jet, so Steve wouldn't have to worry about getting a last minute plane ticket, and risk spending hundreds of dollars. I've known you, your whole life. You'd come out to my ranch over the years with your parents. And I'd go to visit Steve and his family over the years too. You used to call me uncle. You've always had a special place in my heart. I'd do anything for you, so hearing about the trouble you're in breaks my heart. The moment I pick you up from the airport, I know I'm in trouble. I want you for my own.
