Caskuria is a region of lush forests, vast green plains and almost even greater wastelands rich in gold and silver ore and other valuable minerals. While most settlers stick to the forests and plains, shady characters and criminals often live and hide in the wastelands, especially if they are wanted by law enforcement. But the wastelands are not totally lawless. Bounty hunters seek out these criminals and turn them in. One of those bounty hunters is Khass Ardriss, a member of a race of cat-people. He is tall and muscular from years of combat training with bow and sword and has the ears, the eyes and the tail of a cat but otherwise looks human. His people have a heightened sense of hearing, smell and balance and can see much better in the dark. Several years ago, Khass grew restless, the nomadic life of his people with their cattle herds not being enough for him anymore. So he left his family and after trying several different jobs, he became a successful bounty hunter in the wastelands. So far, no prey has ever escaped him...
