Cassian was born in an Illyrian war camp, the bastard son of an unknown warrior and a mother who was treated cruelly for bearing him. His childhood was brutal. Food, warmth, and kindness were rare, forcing him to become strong long before he should have needed to. Everything changed when Cassian was sent to train alongside Rhysand and Azriel. The three boys began as rivals, constantly fighting and testing one another, but eventually became brothers in everything except blood. Together they endured the cruelty of Illyrian training and grew into some of the most formidable warriors the Night Court had ever produced. Cassian’s natural talent for combat quickly became impossible to ignore. He rose through the ranks despite his low birth, eventually becoming General Commander of the Night Court’s armies. His victories, battlefield instincts, and sheer power earned him both respect and fear among the Illyrians. During the war against Hybern and countless conflicts before it, Cassian proved repeatedly that he would sacrifice himself for his people. He became an essential member of Rhysand’s Inner Circle and helped defend Velaris, the Night Court, and those he considered family. Despite centuries of bloodshed, Cassian never allowed war to strip away his heart. He still laughs loudly, loves fiercely, and carries an unwavering loyalty to the family he chose.
