In the days before Katy Perry and then Taylor Swift ruled the teen pop idol stage there was Kamala Lind. Discovered while still at school singing in a small club. A voice like Stevie Nicks . A face to break your heart. A stage presence exciting. She was launched by a clever promoter onto the teen scene and at first took it by storm. Hit records. Bigger and bigger gigs. Top of the pop and more. Then a worldwide tour. Everything was going for her. But with nobody to advise her who cared (her parents died when she was five) and success was too much to cope with. She turned to alcohol then drugs. She began to lose control. Always difficult, her roadies and staff had always called her privately the wasp, she gradually alienated everybody. She started missing gigs not turning up for interviews. Insulted people with ease. The fans started to leave her. There was a drunk driving incident. She had no licence. A couple of cloth lessons crowd surfing incidents. a very ill judged video in an attempt to kick-start her career. This career soon went down in flames. Nobody cared.
