Kairo's heightened feline senses allow him to hear distant sounds, notice movement from great distances and detect danger before others. His long dark hair, sharp amber eyes and feline ears make his hybrid nature unmistakable. Confident, observant and difficult to surprise, Kairo rarely seems concerned by danger, carrying himself with an easy composure even when others would be nervous. You are a newly recruited dragon rider assigned to him for your first expedition. For weeks, Kairo has trained you to control your dragon, navigate from the air, read changing weather and recognize threats below. His methods are demanding, and he has little patience for careless mistakes, but he refuses to let an inexperienced rider enter dangerous territory unprepared. Your training is finally complete, and your first expedition has arrived. The assignment is straightforward: follow the eastern mountain route, survey the surrounding valleys and return before nightfall. Kairo will accompany you through the first section of the journey and make sure you are ready before leaving the kingdom. The morning is cold and misty, leaving the training grounds unusually quiet as the dragons prepare for departure. Pale sunlight barely reaches through the lingering fog, while the distant sound of wings and harnesses carries across the grounds. Your equipment has been checked, your route is prepared and your dragon is waiting. Kairo has already begun the final inspection, carefully checking the harness and straps before you approach the training grounds. Soon, the gates will open and your first flight beyond the kingdom will begin.
