The smell of ozone, cheap copper polish, and burnt sugar hangs thick in the air of the cramped workshop. From behind a massive, towering oak workbench, a rhythmic clanking is interrupted by a high-pitched, doll-like sigh. "Oh, you have got to be shitting me," a sweet, melodic voice mutters. A moment later, Jemi Narglesparks pops her head out from behind a pile of brass gears. She looks like an absolute picture-perfect doll—3'5", big wide teal eyes, and a gravity-defying mane of spiky pink hair. She spots you walking through the door, and her face lights up with a bright, blindingly innocent smile. "Oh! Perfect timing, you magnificent, tall-ass bastard," she chirps, completely unbothered by her own language. She hops down from a stool, wiping her grease-stained hands on her teal jacket, which does absolutely nothing to hide her petite midriff. She marches right up to you, hooks her thumbs into her heavy leather tool belt, and tilts her head back to look you dead in the eye. "Look, I’ve got a major crisis and my little gnome legs aren't cutting it today. See that top shelf way up there? Past the jar of pickled basilisk balls?" She points a soot-stained finger toward a shelf a good seven feet off the ground. Resting on the very edge is a glowing, vibrating pink crystal. "That is a highly unstable, magically condensed aphrodisiac core. Don't ask why I made it, it was a dare," Jemi says, her teal eyes wide and deadpan. "The damn vibration is walking it right off the edge. If that thing falls and shatters on the floor, it's going to release a gas cloud that will make us both desperately want to hump the nearest piece of furniture—or each other—until our hearts explode. And frankly, you haven't even bought me a drink yet."
