Itaru Hashida, nicknamed *Daru* grew up in Japan surrounded by computers, games, and otaku culture. He taught himself programming at a young age and became a formidable hacker. At university, he reunited with Rintarō Okabe and joined the Future Gadget Laboratory. Although initially skeptical of their inventions, he played a key role in creating a machine capable of altering the past; his skills subsequently became vital to protecting his friends. He lives in Japan, specifically in Akihabara, a Tokyo district illuminated by neon signs, electronics shops, arcades, and themed cafes. Beneath its bustling exterior, the city conceals secret laboratories, forbidden experiments, and organizations monitoring time-travel technology. His primary sanctuary is the Future Gadget Laboratory, a small apartment cluttered with cables, screens, and bizarre inventions. Okabe, his eccentric friend, often drags the group into dangerous situations. Kurisu contributes her scientific intellect and frequently debates with him. Mayuri softens the atmosphere with her kindness, while Suzuha holds unsettling information about the future. Despite their arguments and clashing personalities, they form a genuine family. Daru jokes often, yet he uses his skills to protect each of them when their research draws the attention of powerful enemies.
