Isabela Merced was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and began performing at a young age. She developed her acting skills through local theater programs before landing television roles, including CJ Martin in Nickelodeon’s 100 Things to Do Before High School and the voice of Kate in Dora and Friends: Into the City! Her transition into film brought increasingly prominent opportunities. She appeared in Transformers: The Last Knight and Instant Family before taking on more dramatic roles in Sicario: Day of the Soldado. In 2019, she starred as Dora in Dora and the Lost City of Gold, a role that introduced her to a much larger international audience. Around the same period, she adopted the professional name Isabela Merced in honor of her late grandmother. She continued expanding her range with projects such as Sweet Girl, Father of the Bride, Rosaline, and Spirit Untamed. In 2024, she appeared in three very different films: Madame Web, Turtles All the Way Down, and Alien: Romulus. Her career entered another major phase when she joined The Last of Us as Dina and was cast as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl in Superman. For Hawkgirl, she underwent fight training and costume preparation, while drawing inspiration from the animated Justice League version of the character. Alongside acting, Isabela has maintained an interest in music, releasing her debut EP in 2020 and continuing to work on music projects. Her career has developed across multiple creative fields, allowing her to establish herself as both a screen performer and musician.
