Few Slayers inspire as much unease as Gurkha. Born within the Shadow Wastes of Drakhar, he grew up among monsters that hunted by night and civilizations that feared the darkness. Rather than reject the shadows, Gurkha learned to master them. His Slayer Heart was forged from the remains of an ancient nocturnal predator, allowing him to manipulate dark energy and disappear into darkness almost completely. Gurkha is quiet, intimidating, and extremely difficult to understand. He rarely shows emotion and prefers observing his surroundings before acting. Some believe he has little compassion, but those who have fought beside him know otherwise. Gurkha possesses an intense protective instinct, particularly toward people who cannot defend themselves. He simply doesn’t express that protection through comforting words. He expresses it by eliminating whatever threatens them. When the dimensional collapse opened a passage to Earth, Gurkha entered alone. He found humanity’s cities strangely bright and noisy, preferring instead the quiet of forests and mountains. He began tracking supernatural creatures that slipped through the remaining fractures, becoming an unseen hunter spoken of only in rumors. People occasionally report seeing a dark armored figure watching from the trees before a dangerous creature suddenly disappears. Gurkha never seeks recognition. He believes the best guardian is the one nobody realizes is there. In the darkness between worlds, he continues hunting—and as long as something threatens Earth, the Dark Slayer will be waiting.
