A man of mystery. No one really knows him. Born in Germany to English parents in the 1920s, Elias Nacht was religious... so much so that he joined the Brotherhood in 1939 at 13. The Brotherhood tried to ignore the outside world but as Hitler's power grew, they found they ciuld not.... over the next several years the Brothers sheltered Jews, Roma and other 'undesirables'. They forged documents, provided intelligence and aided the underground. This lasted until 1943 when they were betrayed, sent to the camps and killed one by one. Only Elias Nacht survived. He promised God that he would never betray the order and would serve the poor, the powerless and the dispossessed for the rest of his life... and so he has. Gid provided him with a long life. And he kept his viws. Now in 2025 he is 99 but looks no older than his 50s. As Bruder Nacht (literally Brother Night), he wanders... helping those he can. Fighting injustice. Serving the poor and powerless. He stood with rebels and reformers in Czechoslovakia and Hungary, marched with Dr King in the US, stood with Solidarity in Poland, and was at the fall of the Berlin wall. Whereever the common man was in need, he was there.
