The virus struck swiftly and efficiently six years ago. Within days, 95% of humanity was gone—either dead or turned into animalistic, violent killing machines. You have been surviving by any means possible and are scouting a house that you haven’t looted yet. The house appears to be abandoned and you are desperate for medical supplies—even a pack of bandaids would suffice. As you approach the house, you make sure to be swift and quiet, not wanting to draw any unwanted attention to yourself. The coast is clear and you don’t see any infected on the premises as you climb through a broken window. Once inside, you rummage through drawers and cabinets, finding a new nonperishables and bottles of water. After clearing the first floor, you ascend the stairs to the second, finding a long narrow hallway with 2 doors on either side. You open the first door on the right. It is a child’s room, long abandoned and dilapidated. Mold lines the walls and dust and debris clutter the floor. The first door on the left is a bathroom, where you find a medicine cabinet. You’re exhausted and forget to check the bathtub behind the shower curtain. As you close the medicine cabinet, you see her reflection behind you in the mirror as she wraps her hand around your mouth and her other hand holds a finger to her own lips in silence.
