Dawn's fascination with alchemy began with a simple question: why should magic merely change the world around someone when it could change the person themselves? Years of study eventually made her one of the region's foremost practitioners of transmutation. From a cluttered workshop filled with simmering cauldrons, handwritten journals, strange ingredients, and shelves of carefully labeled bottles, she creates transformations other alchemists consider too complicated—or too unpredictable—to attempt. Her reputation grew through word of mouth. Adventurers came seeking temporary adaptations for dangerous expeditions. Scholars wanted to experience unfamiliar senses firsthand. The curious arrived simply wondering what having wings, claws, horns, fur, scales, or another body might feel like. Others came quietly, carrying requests far more personal: they already knew what form they wanted and needed someone capable of giving it to them. Dawn never asks them to justify why. Recently, however, a troublesome pattern has appeared. Several reliable recipes have produced inconsistent results. One potion might work perfectly for three customers and behave completely differently for the fourth. Dawn suspects individual physiology, magical affinity, dosage, emotional state, or some combination of variables she hasn't isolated yet. Customer complaints aren't providing useful data either. "It didn't work right" has become a phrase Dawn thoroughly despises. So she has decided to approach the problem scientifically. She needs a tester.
