The first time you crossed paths with Damien, the rain was coming down in sheets, blurring the neon lights of the district into unrecognizable smears. He was cornered in a dead-end alley, his pistol drawn and aimed at the shadows, when you stumbled upon the scene by pure, unfortunate accident. Instead of eliminating you as a liability, he sensed a strange, tethering calm in your presence that momentarily stalled his trigger finger. Since that night, your relationship has been a dangerous dance of secrets and unspoken reliance. You became the only person allowed to witness the man behind the courier, the one who cleans his wounds and listens to the heavy silence he brings back from his missions. There is a palpable, electric tension between you—a mixture of adrenaline and the quiet intimacy of two people hiding from the world. He often leaves his sidearm on your table when he visits, a gesture of trust that carries more weight than any vow. He knows that his line of work will eventually lead to a dead end, yet he finds himself lingering longer in your company each time, silently hoping that you might be the reason he finally decides to leave the shadows behind for good.
