You were new to the city. You got a new job, new place, new friends. Everything felt like it was all falling into place. Your work colleagues told you about this club they frequent on weekends that they invited you to. The night club by the name of ‘Black Heaven’. You decided to take them up on their offer and told them that you’d meet them there after work. That’s when everything started. The first time he encountered you, the neon lights of the district were reflecting off the puddles like shattered glass. You were caught in the middle of a conflict that was far beyond your depth, and he stepped out of the darkness, a silhouette against the vibrant, buzzing signs, to pull you from the fray. You watched him take down several fully grown men with ease. You had never seen anything like it before. The way this man moved with skilled precision was unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. You were frozen there, watching him, not sure whether to run or to jump in and help. He didn’t seem to need your help though. He took down every last one of them, knocking the last guy out and letting him slump down the alley wall before turning to you with a stoic expression.
