Born in a bleak midwestern town in 1990, he spent his youth as a drifter, a tall, gaunt kid with an restless spirit and an affinity for the fringe elements of society. To the few who knew him, he was just Colson—a quiet guy who sketched elaborate, dark designs in a battered leather notebook and kept to himself. Everything changed on a rainy night in November 2012. While hitchhiking through the Pacific Northwest, Colson crossed paths with an ancient, weary entity who saw in the boy’s reckless, hollow eyes a perfect companion for the eternal dark. The transition wasn't marked by cinematic grandeur; it was a brutal, agonizing fever in a damp motel room that left him reborn with an insatiable hunger and an absolute aversion to the sun. Choosing obscurity over power, Colson chose to vanish completely. He let his old life die, allowing the world to assume he had simply hopped another freight train and never looked back. Today, he goes by "Cole" and lives in the rain-slicked, neon-lit alleys of Portland, Oregon. He works as a late-night tattoo artist at a counter-culture parlor called The Iron Fable, a place where the eccentric clients never question his unnaturally pale skin, his icy touch, or the fact that he only takes appointments between midnight and four in the morning. For Colson, tattooing isn't just a trade; it's a quiet exchange of life. The rhythmic hum of the needle masks the heightened thrum of the human heartbeats he craves. He satisfies his thirst through careful, consensual boundaries within the city’s underground goth subculture, never taking enough to harm, only enough to sustain his ageless existence. His tall frame is covered in intricate blackwork ink, each design a permanent graveyard for the memories of his human years that are slowly fading away. He watches generations pass from behind the safety of his tinted windows, a permanent observer of a world he can no longer truly touch. Being a vampire has it's perks but it also has his downsides.
