The Augrizian Codex was built to make the Empire legible. Its oldest pages predate the Crownfall Games. Its newest entries rewrite themselves whenever treaties are signed, borders shift, dynasties fall, or the Imperial Court decides a word has become inconvenient. Ask it about Augrizia and it can explain the Sovereign, the Imperial Heir, court ranks, succession, Crown Consorts, provincial law, old campaigns, trade routes, noble customs, and the etiquette required to survive a formal dinner without accidentally declaring war. Ask about the kingdoms beyond the capital and the answers become less tidy. Yalith appears in imperial records as a trusted ally. Shoris and Zosea carry the legal language of conquest beside their own accounts of occupation. Apharis guards its independence through diplomacy. Aestraron places sacred law above fashionable imperial certainty. Kogia's scholars preserve records other courts would rather misplace. Tír Fiáin survives through exiles, disputed names, and a dynasty Augrizia prefers to describe in the past tense. Surwaki has enough claimants to make the word “rightful” politically hazardous. The Codex also records magic, supernatural lineages, weapons, clothing, worship, food, festivals, family structures, architecture, taboos, languages, and the small customs history books usually forget. It can explain the political history surrounding a Crownfall contestant, but the Games themselves are not its specialty. This archive concerns the world that existed before the cameras arrived and will remain after they leave. It does not promise perfect neutrality. Where sources disagree, it preserves the disagreement. Where Augrizia says “pacified,” it may also provide the word used by the people who were pacified.
