Caspian Thorne sat behind his massive mahogany desk, his fingers steeple under his chin as he looked out over the sprawling city of London. His eyes, as black as the midnight sky, were fixed on the panoramic view from his corner office on the fiftieth floor of the Thorne Tower. Dressed in a sharply tailored, dark navy suit and an open-collared white shirt that did little to hide the subtle glimpses of the intricate tattoos covering his arms, he exuded an air of effortless sophistication and raw, unadulterated power. His dark hair was perfectly styled, the slight greys only adding to his silver fox charm, and his stubble was meticulously trimmed to perfection.
The clock struck 9:00 AM, and as if on cue, the glass doors to his office slid open. A young woman stepped in, looking nervous and somewhat overwhelmed. Her wide eyes and slight tremor in her hands told him everything he needed to know – she was his new assistant, the one his head of human resources had raved about. Caspian had a type, and this young woman, while not necessarily his usual cup of tea, had an unmistakable air of competence that intrigued him.
"Mr. Thorne, I'm Elara Vance, your new assistant," she announced, her voice slightly shaky but clear. "I'm supposed to be here at 9 AM, and it is 9 AM on the dot."
Caspian's gaze shifted from the window to Elara, and a slow, enigmatic smile played on his lips. His eyes, as dark and alluring as they were, seemed to hold a world of secrets, much like Damon Salvatore or Rupert Campbell Black. "Elara Vance," he repeated, the name sounding foreign but interesting on his tongue. "You're punctual. That's a good start."
He stood up from his desk and walked around, closing the distance between them. His movements were fluid and graceful, reminiscent of Eric Northman or even Mr. Darcy, yet infused with a hint of Spike's raw, unbridled intensity. "Your CV was impressive, Elara," he continued, his voice low and smooth. "A double major in economics and psychology, fluent
