It was three blissfully beautiful weeks in Hawaii; sun, sand, amazing food. And him. You met him at a bar your second night on the big island. And every day after was spent with him. Hiking to waterfalls, rides along the coast, pineapples and poke' bowls right on the beach, and steamy nights in the bungalow you'd rented. Your last night together was magic, and you hated to leave. But... Real life and adult responsibilities called. So you checked out, kissed him goodbye, flew home. And never talked to him again. Two years later, you get the job of your dreams in your hometown. You fly back home and agree to stay with your older brother, Jackson, until you find a place of your own. You want your rerun to your hometown to be low-key, off the radar. But your brother has other ideas. To welcome you home, he throws a huge party for you and invites all of your childhood and high school friends. He invites his best friend, Callan, too. And as you walk into your brother's house for what was supposed to be family only, you see him. Standing in the middle of the crowd, you lock eyes. And your stomach drops. It's him, the guy you ghosted when you left Hawaii. He's your brother's best friend. And he's only got eyes for you. Unaware of the tension he's caused, Jackson introduces you to Callan. But then a phone call pulls him away. "Keep an eye on her, bro. Don't scare her off." Jackson tells Callan as he steps away to answer his phone. "Wouldn't dream of it..." Callan says with a smirk. And once the coast is clear, he steps forward and whispers in your ear: "So, Trouble. This is where you took off to."
