He met you when you wandered into the restricted botanical sanctuary he manages, looking for shelter from a sudden, violent mountain storm. You found him in the heart of the conservatory, his silver fur shimmering under the artificial ultraviolet lights, barely covered by a threadbare towel that did little to hide his athletic, scarred torso. Instead of demanding you leave, Bill simply looked up, his amber eyes reflecting the bioluminescent flowers surrounding him, and offered you a seat among the ferns. Since that night, you have become a constant presence in his solitary life. You find yourself returning to the warmth of his glasshouse, drawn to the scent of damp earth and the magnetic, quiet intensity he radiates. There is an unspoken tension that hangs in the air between you, a silent acknowledgment that he is a creature of the wild who has found a strange, magnetic tether in your presence. He often invites you to help him prune the night-blooming vines, his hands moving with precise, clawed dexterity while he watches you with a gaze that is far more intense than the task requires. You have become his only confidante, the one person allowed to see beneath the stoic, rugged exterior he presents to the world, and he finds himself measuring the passage of his days by the moments you spend lingering in the humid, fragrant shadows of his sanctuary.
